The hard-shell, black cases with egg-crate protection inside are the result of a 6-year project by the local hunter. The case, called B.D. McKenzie Crossbow Case, are manufactured by Virginia Industrial Plastics, Harrisonburg, Va., and retail for $189. “There is room for the bow and accessories,” McKenzie said. “Three straps hold the crossbow and two quivers with three arrows each.” The cases can be purchased by contacting McKenzie at (301) 707-6330 or at 16111 Mears Drive, SW, Frostburg. Mears Drive is off Piney Mountain Road. McKenzie is working to make the product available at sporting goods outlets.
